If I had been asked about my ideal university in my mind, I couldn't have said as many facilities as METU has. I mean that METU has many more facilities than one can imagine. In my opinion someone can find everything he needs in METU campus.
My first expectation from a university is their staff and as far as I can observe, I have very good teachers. However, homework they give cannot be ignored. But we should all accept the fact that homework is for us.
My other expectation from a university is sports facilities. I think, a university should provide its students with all sporting facilities for their physical well-being. It is doubtless that METU perform this job best. In the campus we have the access to 3 gyms, 2 swimming pools, football pitches, tennis courts etc. Somebody in METU doesn't need go out of campus for the purpose of physical training. METU also has a very natural campus so people can go picnic in METU or go walking in the woods.
Meeting different people and things that can contribute to our lives is also an important criteria for me. I think, somebody can learn different aspects of life, improve themselves both mentally and physically etc. METU perform this duty well, as well. There are more than 90 student clubs and societies in METU. They help student learn what they can't learn in classes or on their own. They help students do what they can't do in classes or on their own. For example, I have always wanted to do wrestling but I have never had the chance to do. However, in METU in my first month I started to go trainings. METU meets this demand of mine, as well. But I think there must be more clubs and societies like boxing team, hunting club, shooting team etc.
My last demands from a university are scholarship and accommodation. With its many dormitories METU provides accommodation for all of the students. But I can't say the same for scholarship. I think METU cannot give scholarship with total justice. I mean, those who need scholarship doesn't get but those who doesn't need scholarship get it from METU in my opinion.
As you can see, I think METU as a perfect university and it meets my demands except scholarship distribution.

YanıtlaSilDear Orhan,
YanıtlaSilI found your journal enjoyable and informative. However, I have come across with some grammatical and semantic mistakes in your writing. First of all, it is obvious that you think in Turkish and try to translate it this way. You should think totally in English. Secondly, There are some wrong usages of the adverbs and suffixes. All in all, you expressed your ideas clearly and orderly. I enjoyed reading your journal.

Dear Orhan,
YanıtlaSilI thought that stating your mistakes clearly would help you correct them easily and comprehend elaborately.
Firstly, "Homework they give cannot be ignored." I think the word 'ignore' sounds a bit Turkish. Maybe, using the word 'underestimate' would be more appropriate. Secondly,"But we should all accept the fact that homework is for us." This, also, sounds Turkish, because anything which is not beneficial can be for us, as well.Thirdly, " Somebody in METU doesn't need go out of campus for the purpose of physical training" In my opinion, 'somebody in METU' is not a correct usage.Lastly," My last demands from a university are scholarship and accommodation." Pluralization of demand is in appropriate. It should have been singular. I hope my corrections and recommendations has been satisfactory for you.
